Live event drones in Memphis
This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in Memphis. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our Memphis, TN drone videographer page, and for one-take fly-throughs see our Memphis, TN FPV drone pilot page.
Arena concerts and music venues
Our crew flew drones inside Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle to film Paramore's 2023 show. FedExForum, home of the Grizzlies, and the city's clubs and music venues host shows where we fly only with the venue's approval and a plan with production, security and lighting. See Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.
Beale Street, festivals and stadium days
The Memphis and Shelby County Film and Television Commission asks productions to call first when using a drone, filming on Beale Street or filming on city or county property, and permit paperwork has to reach its office at least 10 days before the shoot. Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium is on the FAA stadium list, so the 3 nautical mile flight restriction applies from an hour before to an hour after covered events. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes.
Airspace and federal sites
Memphis International, 3 miles south of downtown, has a control tower and a busy cargo operation, so many addresses need LAANC. The Memphis Air National Guard Base at the airport and the federal prison in Memphis are federal no-drone areas. Shelby Farms Park allows drones only in its designated Drone Zone with a park permit. We check every Memphis location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.
Tennessee event drone law
A Tennessee law that took effect July 1, 2026 makes it a Class A misdemeanor to fly within 400 feet of or above a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without consent from whoever has authority over it, with exceptions including FAA-authorized operators flying lawfully. We get that consent in writing before every show.

FAQs
Does Tennessee law limit drones at ticketed shows?
Yes. A state law in effect since July 1, 2026 bars flights within 400 feet of a gated ticketed event without consent from whoever controls it, so we get written consent first.
Do you need a permit to film an event on Beale Street?
Call the film commission first. It asks productions to check in before drone or Beale Street filming, and permit paperwork is due at least 10 days ahead.
Can you fly at Simmons Bank Liberty Stadium on event days?
Not inside the FAA stadium flight restriction, which covers 3 nautical miles from an hour before to an hour after covered events, unless we are part of the approved production.
Can you send a live drone feed to screens or a stream?
Yes. We send live drone video to LED screens, the livestream or a broadcast truck, and agree the format and cue points with your production team before show day.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
