LIVE BROADCAST

ABOUT OUR LIVE BROADCAST WORK

Live broadcast drones for sports, festivals and events.

Air Views Media flies live broadcast drones for TV, sports and music festivals across the US. Our micro FPV and cinema drones send a clean live feed into the production truck over COFDM, with camera control through Cyanview RCP. Our aerials have gone live on FOX, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Amazon Music and Twitch.

We fly small, agile FPV and micro drones that feed real-time aerial angles straight into live broadcasts and livestreams. Wireless program video goes into the production truck; camera shading and control can run from the truck through Cyanview RCP on our COFDM FPV packages. Based in Augusta, Georgia, with a second location in Lynchburg, Virginia, we travel nationwide for games, festivals and large public events.

How the live drone feed gets to the truck

For live shows we fly a COFDM camera transmitter on a micro FPV drone carrying a PROTON 4K FLEX camera. The truck controls that camera through Cyanview RCP (iris, color and exposure), the same way it controls any other camera on the show, and the program feed is cabled into the truck or control room. When the show needs it, we can also send the feed out through TVU or the venue uplink.

We fly as a multi-person team: over-crowd FPV drones for close passes, and cinema drones for the wide shots. The director gets a drone they can take at any moment, on the same cues as everything else. See the full setup on our FPV drone live broadcast page.

Live credits: sports, festivals and TV

At the FIFA Fan Festival in Atlanta during the 2026 World Cup, our aerials went live to FOX through a TVU uplink over five days. At Truist Park we sent live feeds to both the TV broadcast and the video board for the Atlanta Braves, and for Mississippi State football in 2026 we fly live feeds to the Davis Wade Stadium video boards. We also flew live drone work for the T-Mobile 5G Range Show at the 2024 PGA Championship.

For festivals, we have flown EDC Las Vegas every year since 2021, with over-crowd drones in the Hulu live stream. We covered Sabrina Carpenter at Austin City Limits 2025 live on Hulu, Outside Lands from 2023 to 2025 for Prime Video, and the Vans Warped Tour 30th anniversary on Prime Video in Orlando and Long Beach.

Waivers, airspace and insurance

Our FAA Part 107 waivers include 107.39 (operations over people), 107.25 (from a moving vehicle), 107.31 (beyond visual line of sight), 107.35 (multiple aircraft), 107.51 and 107.145 (over moving vehicles). That is what lets us fly above festival crowds and live audiences when the operation qualifies.

Secure airspace is routine for us. Flying inside the FIFA Fan Festival temporary flight restriction took permissions from more than seven organizations, including the FAA, FBI, GWCC, DHS and FIFA. During Super Bowl LIX week in New Orleans, we flew drone content for the John Summit and Dom Dolla pop-up DJ set on Bourbon Street, with permission inside the restricted airspace. Liability is $10M standard (optional up to $25M), and Blue UAS (Skydio X10) is available for secure government sites.

FAQ
Can a drone feed go straight into a live TV broadcast?

Yes. A COFDM transmitter on the drone sends a clean feed to the truck, and the truck controls the camera through Cyanview RCP like any other camera. Our aerials have gone live on FOX, Hulu, Amazon Prime Video, Amazon Music and Twitch.

Can you fly drones over festival and stadium crowds?

Yes, where the operation qualifies. We hold an FAA Part 107.39 waiver for operations over people, and every flight path is agreed in advance with the venue and the production.

What insurance do you carry for live broadcasts?

Liability is $10M standard (optional up to $25M), with certificates issued for networks, Live Nation events and venues.
