Live event drones in Knoxville

This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in Knoxville. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our Knoxville, TN drone videographer page, and for one-take fly-throughs see our Knoxville, TN FPV drone pilot page.

World's Fair Park events

World's Fair Park, home of the Sunsphere, is managed by the Public Building Authority of Knox County and the City of Knoxville, and every event there must be scheduled through the authority's events office. For festivals and concerts in the park we fit drone use into the organizer's booking and agree launch spots and no-fly areas with the events office.

Big Ears and downtown festivals

Big Ears, the multi-venue music festival held across downtown venues, has announced its 2027 dates as April 1 to 4. Multi-venue festivals mix indoor halls and outdoor stages, so we fly indoor shots with each venue's approval and outdoor shots from agreed spots clear of open crowds. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes.

Game-week events

Neyland Stadium lists a capacity of 101,915. Game-day stadium restrictions and university approvals are covered on our Knoxville, TN drone videographer page, so for fan fests, tailgates and team events we plan coverage outside those limits and send the feed live to screens or the stream; see Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.

Tennessee event drone law

A Tennessee law that took effect July 1, 2026 makes it a Class A misdemeanor to fly within 400 feet of or above a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without consent from whoever has authority over it, with exceptions including FAA-authorized operators flying lawfully. We get that consent in writing before every show.

FAQs

Can you fly a drone at a World's Fair Park event?

Only as part of an event booked through the Public Building Authority. We agree launch spots and no-fly areas with the organizer and the events office.

Can you film Big Ears with a drone?

Only with the festival's and each venue's approval. We fly indoor shots inside venues and outdoor shots from agreed spots clear of open crowds.

Does Tennessee law limit drones at ticketed shows?

Yes. A state law in effect since July 1, 2026 bars flights within 400 feet of a gated ticketed event without consent from whoever controls it, so we get written consent first.

Can you send a live drone feed to screens or a stream?

Yes. We send live drone video to LED screens, the livestream or a broadcast truck, and agree the format and cue points with your production team before show day.

What insurance do you carry?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
