Weddings, attractions and festivals
Our crew has flown one-take interior fly-throughs of more than 15 Charleston-area hotels for Vive Media. Mountain weddings, attractions and downtown businesses are steady work, and private attractions and resorts set their own drone rules, so we get written approval first. A Tennessee law that took effect July 1, 2026 makes it a Class A misdemeanor to fly within 400 feet of or above a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without consent from whoever has authority over it, with exceptions including FAA-authorized operators flying lawfully. We get that consent in writing before every show. See Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.
Cabins, hotels and venues
Cabin rentals, hotels and chalets need aerials of views and access plus interior tours, filmed with the owner's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours. In the mountains the bigger limits are often terrain and land rules: ridgelines block line of sight and the control signal, so we pick launch points before the shoot. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes.
National park land and airspace
Great Smoky Mountains National Park bans launching, landing or flying drones on its land without the superintendent's written approval, and its boundary wraps tightly around Gatlinburg. We map the boundary before every shoot and keep the whole flight off park land. Gatlinburg is in uncontrolled airspace, but low tour helicopters are common, so we keep a visual observer on every shoot. We check every Gatlinburg location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.

FAQs
Can you fly an event inside the national park?
No. Great Smoky Mountains National Park bans drones on its land without the superintendent's written approval, so we keep flights off park land.
Do tour helicopters affect event flights in Gatlinburg?
Yes. Low tour helicopters are common, so we keep a visual observer on every shoot.
Does Tennessee law limit drones at ticketed shows?
Yes. A state law in effect since July 1, 2026 bars flights within 400 feet of a gated ticketed event without consent from whoever controls it, so we get written consent first.
Can you send a live drone feed to screens or a stream?
Yes. We send live drone video to LED screens, the livestream or a broadcast truck, and agree the format and cue points with your production team before show day.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
