Mobile

FPV drone pilot in Mobile

We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Mobile for Mardi Gras content, waterfront and hotel fly-throughs, concerts and brand launches. FPV adds close, fast, continuous moves that a standard camera drone cannot get, flown by pilots who rehearse each line first. For general aerials, homes and events see our Mobile, AL drone videographer page.

Mardi Gras and concerts

Our crew flew drones for the Vans Warped Tour live broadcast on Prime Video in Orlando. Mardi Gras parades bring dense crowds, so we plan FPV around FAA rules for flying over people and the city's event rules. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. See FPV drones for live broadcast, Indoor arena FPV drones and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US. For event coverage see Mobile, AL live event drones.

Downtown, hotels and the waterfront

Downtown, the waterfront and the Eastern Shore suit FPV fly-throughs of hotels and venues, flown with the owner's approval. The port and shipyards are secured sites, so we stay off them unless the owner invites us. USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park says it does not allow drones without prior approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.

Federal sites and airspace

Coast Guard Aviation Training Center Mobile at Mobile Regional Airport and Coast Guard Station Dauphin Island are federal no-drone areas. Mobile Downtown Airport at Brookley, 3 miles south of downtown, has a control tower, and Mobile Regional, 11 miles west, is towered with Class C airspace. We check every Mobile location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

Alabama event drone law

Alabama's ticketed event drone law, in effect since October 1, 2026, bars flights within 400 feet of or above a ticketed music, sports or performing arts event unless the organizer consents or another exemption applies, so we fly event work with the organizer's written consent. Many Alabama cities limit drone takeoff and landing on city property such as parks, so we launch from private property with the owner's approval or get the city's permission.

FAQs

Can you fly FPV at Mardi Gras parades?

Yes, with the organizers and city on board. Parade crowds are dense, so flights follow FAA rules for flying over people and the city's event rules.

Does Alabama law limit drones at ticketed events?

Yes. Since October 1, 2026 state law bars flights within 400 feet of or above a ticketed event unless the organizer consents or another exemption applies, so we get consent in writing.

Can you fly at the USS Alabama Battleship park?

Only with prior approval. The park says it does not allow drones without it.

Can FPV footage go live to a stream or screens?

Yes. We send live FPV video to the stream, LED screens or a broadcast truck, and agree the format with your production team before the event.

What insurance do you carry?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
