Tuscaloosa
FPV drone pilot in Tuscaloosa
We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Tuscaloosa for amphitheater and campus content, venue and office fly-throughs, festival FPV and brand films. FPV adds close, fast, continuous moves that a standard camera drone cannot get, flown by pilots who rehearse each line first. For general aerials, homes and events see our Tuscaloosa, AL drone videographer page.
Amphitheater concerts
Our crew flew live drone feeds for TV and the video board for the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park. The amphitheater and other ticketed venues host concerts and events year round, and we fly them with the venue's approval. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours. See FPV drones for live broadcast, Indoor arena FPV drones and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US. For event coverage see Tuscaloosa, AL live event drones.
Bryant-Denny Stadium and UA
Saban Field at Bryant-Denny Stadium is on the FAA stadium list, so the 3 nautical mile flight restriction applies from an hour before to an hour after covered events. The University of Alabama does not allow drone flights on campus on football game days, and other campus flights need university approval through its drone request form, at least 7 to 10 business days ahead.
Airspace and Alabama law
Tuscaloosa National Airport, 3 miles northwest of downtown, has a control tower, so many addresses near the river and campus need LAANC. Many Alabama cities limit drone takeoff and landing on city property such as parks, so we launch from private property with the owner's approval or get the city's permission. Alabama's ticketed event drone law, in effect since October 1, 2026, bars flights within 400 feet of or above a ticketed music, sports or performing arts event unless the organizer consents or another exemption applies, so we fly event work with the organizer's written consent. We check every Tuscaloosa location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.

FAQs
Can you fly FPV on the UA campus on game day?
No. The University of Alabama does not allow drone flights on campus on football game days, and other campus flights need its approval 7 to 10 business days ahead.
Can you fly at Bryant-Denny Stadium on event days?
Not inside the FAA stadium flight restriction, which covers 3 nautical miles from an hour before to an hour after covered events, unless we are part of the approved production.
Does Alabama law limit drones at ticketed events?
Yes. Since October 1, 2026 state law bars flights within 400 feet of or above a ticketed event unless the organizer consents or another exemption applies, so we get consent in writing.
Can FPV footage go live to a stream or screens?
Yes. We send live FPV video to the stream, LED screens or a broadcast truck, and agree the format with your production team before the event.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
