Dothan
FPV drone pilot in Dothan
We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Dothan for festival content, venue and business fly-throughs, farms and brand films. FPV adds close, fast, continuous moves that a standard camera drone cannot get, flown by pilots who rehearse each line first. For general aerials, homes and events see our Dothan, AL drone videographer page.
Festivals and events
Our crew flew drones down the Las Vegas Strip and around the F1 cars at the 2022 Las Vegas Grand Prix launch party. The National Peanut Festival and other fairs, games and concerts fill the calendar. Alabama's ticketed event drone law, in effect since October 1, 2026, bars flights within 400 feet of or above a ticketed music, sports or performing arts event unless the organizer consents or another exemption applies, so we fly event work with the organizer's written consent. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. See FPV drones for live broadcast, Indoor arena FPV drones and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US. For event coverage see Montgomery, AL live event drones.
Farms, venues and businesses
Farms, land, new communities and local businesses suit agriculture, real estate and brand films, filmed with the owner's approval. Alabama law makes it a felony to fly a drone within 500 feet horizontally or 200 feet vertically of a state prison, or to photograph one, so we plan routes well clear of them. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.
Fort Novosel and airspace
Fort Novosel, formerly Fort Rucker, northwest of Dothan, is a federal no-drone area, and Army helicopter training flies low across much of the Wiregrass, so we plan launch points well clear of the post and watch for traffic. Dothan Regional Airport, 5 miles northwest of downtown, has a control tower, so some addresses need LAANC. We check every Dothan location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.

FAQs
Can you fly near Fort Novosel?
No. The post is a federal no-drone area, so we plan launch points well clear of it.
Do Dothan addresses need LAANC?
Some do. Dothan Regional Airport, 5 miles northwest of downtown, has a control tower.
Does Alabama law limit drones at ticketed events?
Yes. Since October 1, 2026 state law bars flights within 400 feet of or above a ticketed event unless the organizer consents or another exemption applies, so we get consent in writing.
Can FPV footage go live to a stream or screens?
Yes. We send live FPV video to the stream, LED screens or a broadcast truck, and agree the format with your production team before the event.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
