Montgomery, AL Live Event and Concert Drones

Live event drones in Montgomery

This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in Montgomery. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our Montgomery, AL drone videographer page.

Ballgames, bowl games and concerts

Our crew flew drone coverage at Austin City Limits in Zilker Park for the festival's Hulu live broadcast. Ballgames, bowl games, riverfront concerts and festivals fill the calendar, and we fly them inside the organizer's production plan. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. See Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.

Maxwell and federal sites

Maxwell Air Force Base, about 2 miles northwest of downtown, the Maxwell-Gunter Annex, the Air National Guard base at Montgomery Regional Airport and a Marine Corps Reserve site are all federal no-drone areas, so we plan launch points well clear of them. Many Alabama cities limit drone takeoff and landing on city property such as parks, so we launch from private property with the owner's approval or get the city's permission.

Airspace

Montgomery Regional Airport, 6 miles southwest of downtown, has a control tower, and Maxwell's airfield is towered too, so many addresses need LAANC. We check every Montgomery location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

Alabama event drone law

Alabama's ticketed event drone law, in effect since October 1, 2026, bars flights within 400 feet of or above a ticketed music, sports or performing arts event unless the organizer consents or another exemption applies, so we fly event work with the organizer's written consent.

FAQs

Does Alabama law limit drones at ticketed events?

Yes. Since October 1, 2026 state law bars flights within 400 feet of or above a ticketed event unless the organizer consents or another exemption applies, so we get consent in writing.

Can you fly an event near Maxwell Air Force Base?

No. Maxwell, the Maxwell-Gunter Annex and the Air National Guard base are federal no-drone areas, so we launch well clear of them.

Do you need FAA approval to fly in Montgomery?

It depends on the address. Montgomery Regional and Maxwell's airfield are towered. We check every location on the FAA sectional and B4UFLY before quoting and file LAANC where it is needed.

Can you send a live drone feed to screens or a stream?

Yes. We send live drone video to LED screens, the livestream or a broadcast truck, and agree the format and cue points with your production team before show day.

What insurance do you carry?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
