Live event drones in Birmingham

This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in Birmingham. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our Birmingham, AL drone videographer page, and for one-take fly-throughs see our Birmingham, AL FPV drone pilot page.

Birmingham's drone fine

In October 2026, ahead of the Magic City Classic at Legion Field, the Birmingham City Council approved a $500 first-offense fine for unlawful drone use near ticketed entertainment events, published as effective October 24, 2026. It works alongside the state law that took effect October 1, 2026, which bars flights within 400 feet of or above qualifying ticketed events without the organizer's consent unless an exemption applies. We fly event work with the organizer's written consent.

Protective Stadium and the BJCC

Protective Stadium opened on the BJCC campus in 2021 with about 47,100 seats and is home to UAB football, Birmingham Legion FC and the Birmingham Bowl, and it hosts concerts. Stadium shows bring FAA flight restrictions and venue rules, so we fly only as part of an approved production and send the feed live to the video board or stream; see Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.

Festivals and city events

Sloss City Music Festival brought electronic music to Sloss Furnaces on September 18, 2026. Festivals like it run under the organizer's permits, so we fly from agreed launch spots and keep clear of open crowds. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes.
