Albany

We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Albany for riverfront and downtown content, venue fly-throughs, campus work and festivals. Downtown and the Flint River
Downtown Albany sits on the Flint River, with the Flint RiverQuarium, Ray Charles Plaza and the Albany Civic Center a few blocks apart. A low FPV pass along the river ties them together in one shot, flown with the owners' approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.
Campus, parks and festivals
Albany State University, Chehaw Park and the city's festivals suit FPV recaps, planned with each organizer. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Airspace and the Marine base
Southwest Georgia Regional Airport has a control tower, and its Class D airspace is in effect while the tower is open. Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany is covered by a permanent FAA drone restriction from the surface to 400 feet. We check every Albany location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.
Georgia drone law
Georgia law makes it a misdemeanor to fly within 400 feet of or above a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without consent from whoever has authority over the event, with an exception for FAA-authorized operators flying lawfully. We get the organizer's consent in writing anyway, because the venue and promoter control launch spots and crowd areas. State law limits how far cities and counties can write their own drone rules, but event permits, venue contracts and property owners still decide where a crew can launch, so we plan around all three.

Can you fly near the Marine Corps base in Albany?
No. Marine Corps Logistics Base Albany is covered by a permanent FAA drone restriction from the surface to 400 feet, so we stay outside it.
Can you film a ticketed show in Albany?
Yes, with the organizer's consent. Georgia law bars drone flights within 400 feet of a gated ticketed event without it, so we get written consent first.
Can a Georgia city ban your drone shoot?
Mostly no. State law preempts most local drone rules, but a city can still control commercial launches and landings on its own property, so we confirm launch spots in Albany.
