Perry fairgrounds
Our crew flew five days of live coverage, live to FOX, at the FIFA Fan Festival Atlanta. The Georgia National Fairgrounds and Agricenter in Perry hosts the Georgia National Fair each October, along with horse shows, rodeos and concerts through the year, and we fly there with the organizer's approval. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Museum of Aviation
The Museum of Aviation, beside the base, displays more than 85 historic aircraft, missiles and exhibits. Events there are flown with the museum's approval and the airspace authorization the location needs. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.
Airspace and Georgia law
Robins Air Force Base has Class D airspace within about 5.5 miles of the field while its tower is open, and Class E surface airspace when it is closed, which covers much of Warner Robins either way. We do not fly over the base without its permission. Georgia law makes it a misdemeanor to fly within 400 feet of or above a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without consent from whoever has authority over the event, with an exception for FAA-authorized operators flying lawfully. We get the organizer's consent in writing anyway, because the venue and promoter control launch spots and crowd areas. State law limits how far cities and counties can write their own drone rules, but event permits, venue contracts and property owners still decide where a crew can launch, so we plan around all three. We check every Warner Robins location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. Can you fly FPV near Robins Air Force Base?
Not over the base without its permission. Its controlled airspace covers much of Warner Robins, so many addresses need authorization.
