Our crew flew drones inside Climate Pledge Arena in Seattle to film Paramore's 2023 show. Georgia College and State University is the city's anchor, and we film admissions, alumni and athletics content across campus and downtown. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Lake Sinclair and historic homes
Lake Sinclair, a Georgia Power reservoir north of town, and nearby Lake Oconee drive the region's lakefront real estate. Docks, shoreline and the view from the water read best from the air, and for interiors an indoor one-take fly-through shows the home the way a buyer sees it. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.
The historic district, airspace and Georgia law
Milledgeville was Georgia's capital from 1804 to 1868, and its historic district still holds the Old Governor's Mansion, completed in 1839 and now a museum on the Georgia College campus. Flights over the mansion and campus are planned with the college. Baldwin County Regional Airport, north of the city, has no control tower. Georgia law makes it a misdemeanor to fly within 400 feet of or above a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without consent from whoever has authority over the event, with an exception for FAA-authorized operators flying lawfully. We get the organizer's consent in writing anyway, because the venue and promoter control launch spots and crowd areas. State law limits how far cities and counties can write their own drone rules, but event permits, venue contracts and property owners still decide where a crew can launch, so we plan around all three. We check every Milledgeville location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. Yes, with the owner's approval, as a one-take fly-through from the dock to the interior.
Can you fly over the Old Governor's Mansion?
Only with a plan agreed with Georgia College, because the mansion is a museum on its campus.
Can you film a ticketed show in Milledgeville?
Yes, with the organizer's consent. Georgia law bars drone flights within 400 feet of a gated ticketed event without it, so we get written consent first.
Can FPV footage go live to a stream or screens?
Yes. We send live FPV video to the stream, LED screens or a broadcast truck, and agree the format with your production team before the event.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
