Thomson, GA FPV Drone Pilot
Air Views Media sends FPV pilots to Thomson and McDuffie County from our Augusta headquarters, about 35 miles west on I-20. We fly factory floors, farms, lake properties and downtown events with FAA Part 107 certified pilots and $10M liability standard (optional up to $25M).
Plants and warehouses along I-20
Thomson's manufacturers and distribution centers need workers, and recruiting video works best when it shows the real floor. An FPV drone can enter through a dock door, run the length of a production line and rise over the racking in one shot, which says more about scale than a slideshow. We schedule a safety walk first, agree no-fly zones around moving equipment, and fly during a planned window. Our crew has filmed industrial subjects for Science Channel's Impossible Engineering, so a plant tour is familiar ground.
Farms, timber and the lake
Out in the county, FPV follows a tractor down a row, skims a pond and lifts over a pine stand to show where the land ends. On Clarks Hill Lake it chases a boat into a cove before revealing the dock. These clips sit alongside the standard aerials on a listing or a farm's own channels. We fly over livestock only at height and never chase animals.
Downtown Thomson
The historic downtown and the old depot area suit slow, low FPV moves past the storefronts at dusk, the kind of shot a tourism board or a Main Street event can use for years. For a festival or a parade, we can also send a live signal to a stream; see FPV for live broadcast.
Airspace and permissions
Much of McDuffie County is outside controlled airspace, but the Thomson-McDuffie County Airport sits near town. We verify the airspace for each site, check NOTAMs and file any LAANC or waiver requests the job needs. On private land we fly with the owner's permission.

Is it safe to fly FPV inside a working plant?
Yes, when it's planned. We walk the route with your safety lead, keep clear of moving equipment and people, and fly a small aircraft during an agreed window.
Do you charge travel to Thomson?
No flights or hotels. Thomson is a short drive west of our Augusta base; we quote any mileage up front.
Can FPV show a whole farm or tract?
FPV adds energy and detail. For boundaries and acreage we pair it with a standard high aerial and optional plat graphics.
Do you need FAA approval to fly in Thomson?
Usually not, though it depends on the site and how close it is to the county airport. We check every job.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
