Mobile
Mardi Gras and events
Ladd-Peebles Stadium is on the FAA stadium list, so the 3 nautical mile flight restriction applies from an hour before to an hour after covered events. Mardi Gras parades bring dense crowds, so we plan flights around FAA rules for flying over people and the city's event rules. Alabama's ticketed event drone law, in effect since October 1, 2026, bars flights within 400 feet of or above a ticketed music, sports or performing arts event unless the organizer consents or another exemption applies, so we fly event work with the organizer's written consent. For parades, concerts and festivals we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens; see live broadcast drones and concert and festival drones.
Port, waterfront and downtown
Downtown, the waterfront and the Eastern Shore suit tourism, hospitality and real estate films, filmed with the owner's approval. The port and shipyards are secured sites, so we stay off them unless the owner invites us. USS Alabama Battleship Memorial Park says it does not allow drones without prior approval. For lobbies and venues an indoor one-take fly-through shows the space in a single shot; see indoor fly-through tours.
Federal sites
Coast Guard Aviation Training Center Mobile at Mobile Regional Airport and Coast Guard Station Dauphin Island are federal no-drone areas. We keep neighbors and people on private property out of frame unless they agree to be filmed.
Airspace
Mobile Downtown Airport at Brookley, 3 miles south of downtown, has a control tower, and Mobile Regional, 11 miles west, is towered with Class C airspace, so many addresses need LAANC. We check every Mobile location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

FAQs
Can you film Mardi Gras parades in Mobile?
Sometimes, with careful planning. Parade crowds limit where a drone can fly under FAA rules, so we work from approved spots with the organizer's consent.
Can you fly near the Mobile airports?
Only with FAA authorization. Both Mobile airports have control towers, and the Coast Guard training center at Mobile Regional is a federal no-drone area.
Do you need FAA approval to fly in Mobile?
It depends on the address. Mobile Downtown Airport and Mobile Regional both have control towers. We check every location on the FAA sectional and B4UFLY before quoting and file LAANC where it is needed.
Can you fly over the Port of Mobile?
Not over secured port or shipyard property without the owner's permission. We film from public or private spots nearby with approval.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
