Destin
FPV drone pilot in Destin
We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Destin for resort and rental fly-throughs, harbor and boat content, weddings and brand launches. FPV adds close, fast, continuous moves that a standard camera drone cannot get, flown by pilots who rehearse each line first. For general aerials, homes and events see our Destin, FL drone videographer page.
Resorts and rentals
Our crew flew a one-take micro-drone fly-through of the Camp EDC campground in 2024. Destin resorts and vacation rentals suit the same one-take approach, flown with the owner's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.
Harbor, boats and weddings
The harbor, charter boats and beach wedding venues suit low FPV lines with the owner's or organizer's approval. Beach shoots add their own limits: crowds, launch spots and sea turtle and shorebird nesting closures, so we check local rules and posted signs first. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. See FPV drones for live broadcast, Indoor arena FPV drones and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US. For event coverage see Destin, FL live event drones.
Airspace and Eglin
Destin Executive Airport has a control tower, and the airport says its Class D airspace covers Destin to the Walton County line, all the beaches and Crab Island, so nearly every shoot needs FAA authorization. Eglin Air Force Base, Hurlburt Field and Duke Field are federal no-drone areas, and Eglin's restricted airspace covers much of the county. We check every Destin location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.
Florida drone law and parks
Henderson Beach is a state park: Florida state parks prohibit drone takeoff and landing on park land, so we launch from outside the park. Florida Statute 330.41 bars drone flights over critical infrastructure such as substations, water plants, seaports, airports and military sites unless the flight is a commercial one that follows FAA rules or the owner consents in writing, and it bars flights over K-12 schools, so we plan routes around both.

FAQs
Does a Destin FPV shoot need FAA authorization?
Almost always. Destin Executive Airport's Class D airspace covers the town, the beaches and Crab Island, so we file LAANC or FAA authorization first.
Are there Florida laws on where drones can fly?
Yes. Florida law bars flights over critical infrastructure such as substations, seaports and military sites unless the flight is a commercial one that follows FAA rules or the owner consents, and it bars flights over K-12 schools.
Can you fly near Eglin Air Force Base?
No. Eglin, Hurlburt Field and Duke Field are federal no-drone areas, so we plan launch points well clear of them.
Can FPV footage go live to a stream or screens?
Yes. We send live FPV video to the stream, LED screens or a broadcast truck, and agree the format with your production team before the event.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
