Amelia Island
FPV drone pilot in Amelia Island
We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Amelia Island for car week content, resort and hotel fly-throughs, weddings and tourism content. FPV adds close, fast, continuous moves that a standard camera drone cannot get, flown by pilots who rehearse each line first. For general aerials, homes and events see our Amelia Island, FL drone videographer page.
The Amelia and car week
Our crew flew drones for the Vans Warped Tour live broadcast on Prime Video in Orlando. The Amelia concours and car week suit FPV that follows cars across the show field, flown with the organizer's approval. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. See FPV drones for live broadcast, Indoor arena FPV drones and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US. For event coverage see Amelia Island, FL live event drones.
Resorts and beaches
Luxury resorts, hotels and beachfront venues suit FPV that moves from lobby to pool to shoreline in one take. Florida state parks prohibit drone takeoff and landing on park land, so we launch from outside the park. Beach shoots add their own limits: crowds, launch spots and sea turtle and shorebird nesting closures, so we check local rules and posted signs first. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.
Kings Bay and Florida law
The FAA posts a drone security restriction near Naval Submarine Base Kings Bay, just north across the St. Marys River, so we keep north end flights clear of it. Florida Statute 330.41 bars drone flights over critical infrastructure such as substations, water plants, seaports, airports and military sites unless the flight is a commercial one that follows FAA rules or the owner consents in writing, and it bars flights over K-12 schools, so we plan routes around both. Florida's drone privacy law protects people on private property who cannot be seen from the ground, so we keep neighbors out of frame or get their consent. We check every Amelia Island location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.
