Tallahassee
FPV drone pilot in Tallahassee
We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Tallahassee for campus and game day content, venue and office fly-throughs, festival FPV and brand films. FPV adds close, fast, continuous moves that a standard camera drone cannot get, flown by pilots who rehearse each line first. For general aerials, homes and events see our Tallahassee, FL drone videographer page.
Doak Campbell Stadium and FSU
Our crew filmed Megan Thee Stallion's set at Rolling Loud Miami 2021 with a micro FPV drone. Doak Campbell Stadium is on the FAA stadium list, so the 3 nautical mile flight restriction applies from an hour before to an hour after covered events. Florida State requires approval from its Assistant Vice President for Public Safety for any flight launched from university property, and it will not approve Main or Southwest Campus flights without FAA airspace authorization.
Venues and festivals
Downtown venues and festivals are flown with the organizer's approval inside the production plan. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours. See FPV drones for live broadcast, Indoor arena FPV drones and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US. For event coverage see Tallahassee, FL live event drones.
Federal sites, Florida law and airspace
The federal prison in Tallahassee and the St. Marks Powder plant in Wakulla County are federal no-drone areas. Florida Statute 330.41 bars drone flights over critical infrastructure such as substations, water plants, seaports, airports and military sites unless the flight is a commercial one that follows FAA rules or the owner consents in writing, and it bars flights over K-12 schools, so we plan routes around both. Tallahassee International, 4 miles southwest of downtown, has a control tower, and FSU's main campus sits within 5 miles of it, so many addresses need LAANC. We check every Tallahassee location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.

FAQs
Can you fly FPV on the FSU campus?
Only with approval from FSU's Assistant Vice President for Public Safety, and Main or Southwest Campus flights also need FAA airspace authorization.
Can you fly at Doak Campbell Stadium on event days?
Not inside the FAA stadium flight restriction, which covers 3 nautical miles from an hour before to an hour after covered events, unless we are part of the approved production.
Are there Florida laws on where drones can fly?
Yes. Florida law bars flights over critical infrastructure such as substations, seaports and military sites unless the flight is a commercial one that follows FAA rules or the owner consents, and it bars flights over K-12 schools.
Can FPV footage go live to a stream or screens?
Yes. We send live FPV video to the stream, LED screens or a broadcast truck, and agree the format with your production team before the event.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
