Tallahassee
Doak Campbell Stadium and FSU
Doak Campbell Stadium is on the FAA stadium list, so the 3 nautical mile flight restriction applies from an hour before to an hour after covered events. Florida State requires approval from its Assistant Vice President for Public Safety for any flight launched from university property, and it will not approve Main or Southwest Campus flights without FAA airspace authorization. For games, concerts and festivals we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens; see live broadcast drones and concert and festival drones.
Downtown and businesses
Downtown, the college districts and local businesses suit brand and recruiting films, filmed with the owner's approval. For lobbies and venues an indoor one-take fly-through shows the space in a single shot; see indoor fly-through tours.
Federal sites and Florida law
The federal prison in Tallahassee and the St. Marks Powder plant in Wakulla County are federal no-drone areas. Florida Statute 330.41 bars drone flights over critical infrastructure such as substations, water plants, seaports, airports and military sites unless the flight is a commercial one that follows FAA rules or the owner consents in writing, and it bars flights over K-12 schools, so we plan routes around both.
Airspace
Tallahassee International, 4 miles southwest of downtown, has a control tower, and FSU's main campus sits within 5 miles of it, so many addresses need LAANC. We check every Tallahassee location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

Can you fly near Doak Campbell Stadium on game days?
Not inside the FAA stadium flight restriction, which covers 3 nautical miles from an hour before to an hour after covered events. We schedule nearby shoots outside that window.

Only with approval from FSU Public Safety and FAA airspace authorization, since the main campus is near Tallahassee International.
Do you need FAA approval to fly in Tallahassee?
It depends on the address. Tallahassee International has a control tower. We check every location on the FAA sectional and B4UFLY before quoting and file LAANC where it is needed.
Do you also cover South Georgia?
Yes. We work across the line in Thomasville and Valdosta.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
