Daytona Beach, FL Drone Videographer and Operator

Daytona Beach drone videography

We fly motorsports events, festivals, concerts, Bike Week and Biketoberfest, spring break, resorts and oceanfront real estate across Daytona Beach, Ormond Beach and Volusia County. For motorsports, festivals and concerts we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens; see live broadcast drones and concert and festival drones.

Daytona International Speedway

NASCAR races at Daytona International Speedway, including the Daytona 500, fall under the FAA stadium flight restriction, which covers 3 nautical miles from an hour before to an hour after the event. Track flights happen only with the speedway's approval as part of the event plan.

Class C airspace at Daytona Beach International

Daytona Beach International has a 24-hour tower and Class C airspace over much of the city, with heavy flight school traffic, so most Daytona Beach flights need LAANC or FAA authorization. We check every Daytona Beach location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

Florida drone law and beaches

Volusia County park rules prohibit launching or landing drones in county parks. Florida Statute 330.41 bars drone flights over critical infrastructure such as substations, water plants, seaports, airports and military sites unless the flight is a commercial one that follows FAA rules or the owner consents in writing, and it bars flights over K-12 schools, so we plan routes around both. Florida state parks prohibit drone takeoff and landing on park land, so we launch from outside the park. Beach shoots add their own limits: crowds, launch spots and sea turtle and shorebird nesting closures, so we check local rules and posted signs first. Florida's drone privacy law protects people on private property who cannot be seen from the ground, so we keep neighbors out of frame or get their consent.

FAQs

Can you fly near Daytona International Speedway on game days?

Not inside the FAA stadium flight restriction, which covers 3 nautical miles from an hour before to an hour after covered events. We schedule nearby shoots outside that window.

Do you need FAA approval to fly in Daytona Beach?

It depends on the address. Daytona Beach International's Class C airspace covers much of the city. We check every location on the FAA sectional and B4UFLY before quoting and file LAANC where it is needed.

Can you film Bike Week and Biketoberfest?

Yes, with the organizer's or venue's approval. We keep drones off crowds and check for event flight restrictions first.

Can you launch from Volusia County beaches and parks?

Not from county parks, where launching and landing drones is prohibited. We pick launch sites that follow county and beach rules.

What insurance do you carry?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
