Stadium and events
EverBank Stadium is on the FAA stadium list, so the 3 nautical mile flight restriction applies from an hour before to an hour after covered events. For games, concerts and festivals we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens; see live broadcast drones and concert and festival drones.
Military sites
NAS Jacksonville, Naval Station Mayport, the Marine Corps facility on Blount Island, the Air National Guard base at Jacksonville International and the Coast Guard hangar at Cecil Airport are all federal no-drone areas. Florida Statute 330.41 bars drone flights over critical infrastructure such as substations, water plants, seaports, airports and military sites unless the flight is a commercial one that follows FAA rules or the owner consents in writing, and it bars flights over K-12 schools, so we plan routes around both.
Beaches and parks
The beaches, the St. Johns River and downtown suit tourism, hospitality and real estate films. The Timucuan Ecological and Historic Preserve, including Fort Caroline, is National Park Service land, which bans drone launches without the superintendent's written approval. Florida state parks prohibit drone takeoff and landing on park land, so we launch from outside the park. Beach shoots add their own limits: crowds, launch spots and sea turtle and shorebird nesting closures, so we check local rules and posted signs first.
Airspace
Jacksonville International, 9 miles north of downtown, has a control tower, and Jacksonville Executive at Craig, 8 miles east, is towered too, so many addresses need LAANC. We check every Jacksonville location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

Can you fly near EverBank Stadium on event days?
Not inside the FAA stadium flight restriction, which covers 3 nautical miles from an hour before to an hour after covered events. We schedule nearby shoots outside that window.
Can you fly near NAS Jacksonville or Mayport?
No. Both are federal no-drone areas, as are Blount Island and the Air National Guard base at the airport, so we plan shoots well clear of them.
Do you need FAA approval to fly in Jacksonville?
It depends on the address. Jacksonville International and Craig both have control towers. We check every location on the FAA sectional and B4UFLY before quoting and file LAANC where it is needed.
