Sarasota
Beaches and keys
Siesta Key, Lido Key and Longboat Key suit resort, wedding and real estate films. Beach shoots add their own limits: crowds, launch spots and sea turtle and shorebird nesting closures, so we check local rules and posted signs first. Florida's drone privacy law protects people on private property who cannot be seen from the ground, so we keep neighbors out of frame or get their consent.
Downtown and events
The bayfront, downtown hotels, theaters and event venues suit hospitality and brand films, filmed with the owner's approval. For events, concerts and festivals we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens; see live broadcast drones and concert and festival drones. For lobbies and venues an indoor one-take fly-through shows the space in a single shot; see indoor fly-through tours.
Parks and Florida law
Myakka River State Park is a state park: Florida state parks prohibit drone takeoff and landing on park land, so we launch from outside the park. De Soto National Memorial in Bradenton is National Park Service land, which bans drone launches without the superintendent's written approval. Florida Statute 330.41 bars drone flights over critical infrastructure such as substations, water plants, seaports, airports and military sites unless the flight is a commercial one that follows FAA rules or the owner consents in writing, and it bars flights over K-12 schools, so we plan routes around both.
Airspace
Sarasota Bradenton International, 3 miles north of downtown, has a control tower, so many addresses need LAANC. We check every Sarasota location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.
