Fort Lauderdale
Events and stadiums
Hard Rock Stadium in Miami Gardens, south of Broward, is on the FAA stadium list, so the 3 nautical mile flight restriction applies from an hour before to an hour after covered events. For concerts, festivals and boat shows we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens; see live broadcast drones and concert and festival drones. For Miami work see Miami drone videography and our Miami FPV drone pilot page.
Boats and the waterfront
Las Olas, the Intracoastal, the marinas and the beachfront hotels suit yacht, hospitality and brand films, filmed with the owner's approval. For yachts, lobbies and venues an indoor one-take fly-through shows the space in a single shot; see indoor fly-through tours.
Port Everglades and Florida law
Florida Statute 330.41 bars drone flights over critical infrastructure such as substations, water plants, seaports, airports and military sites unless the flight is a commercial one that follows FAA rules or the owner consents in writing, and it bars flights over K-12 schools, so we plan routes around both. Port Everglades and the fuel terminals around it fall under that law. Florida's drone privacy law protects people on private property who cannot be seen from the ground, so we keep neighbors out of frame or get their consent.
Airspace
Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International, 3 miles southwest of downtown, has a control tower, and Fort Lauderdale Executive, 5 miles north, is towered too, so many addresses need LAANC. We check every Fort Lauderdale location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

FAQs
Can you film yachts and boat shows in Fort Lauderdale?
Yes, with the owner's or organizer's approval, and with FAA authorization where the marina sits in controlled airspace.
Can you fly near Port Everglades?
Only within Florida Statute 330.41, which covers seaports. We stay off port property or get written consent and follow FAA rules.
Do you need FAA approval to fly in Fort Lauderdale?
It depends on the address. Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International and Fort Lauderdale Executive both have control towers. We check every location on the FAA sectional and B4UFLY before quoting and file LAANC where it is needed.
Do you also cover Miami?
Yes. We fly Miami regularly, including FPV for Miami Music Week and Art Basel Miami.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
