FPV drone pilot in Sarasota

We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Sarasota for hotel and resort fly-throughs, theater and venue content, festivals and beach events. FPV adds close, fast, continuous moves that a standard camera drone cannot get, flown by pilots who rehearse each line first. For general aerials, homes and events see our Sarasota, FL drone videographer page.

Hotels, resorts and theaters

Our crew has flown one-take interior fly-throughs of more than 15 Charleston-area hotels for Vive Media. Sarasota hotels, resorts, theaters and event venues suit the same one-take approach, flown with the owner's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.

Bayfront festivals and the keys

Sarasota's bayfront hosts festivals that we fly inside the organizer's production plan. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Siesta Key, Lido Key and Longboat Key host beach concerts and resort events. Beach shoots add their own limits: crowds, launch spots and sea turtle and shorebird nesting closures, so we check local rules and posted signs first. See FPV drones for live broadcast, Indoor arena FPV drones and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US. For event coverage see Sarasota, FL live event drones.

Parks, Florida law and airspace

Myakka River State Park is a state park: Florida state parks prohibit drone takeoff and landing on park land, so we launch from outside the park. Florida Statute 330.41 bars drone flights over critical infrastructure such as substations, water plants, seaports, airports and military sites unless the flight is a commercial one that follows FAA rules or the owner consents in writing, and it bars flights over K-12 schools, so we plan routes around both. Florida's drone privacy law protects people on private property who cannot be seen from the ground, so we keep neighbors out of frame or get their consent. Sarasota Bradenton International, 3 miles north of downtown, has a control tower, so many addresses need LAANC. We check every Sarasota location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.
