Live event drones in Covington
This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in Covington. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our Covington, GA drone videographer page. Our headquarters is in Augusta, so Georgia shoots are planned by our home crew.
The courthouse square
Our crew has flown FPV at Factory Town during Miami Music Week. Covington's courthouse square, with the 1884 Newton County courthouse and its clock tower, has stood in for fictional towns on screen, most famously Mystic Falls in The Vampire Diaries. For premieres, festivals and events we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens. See Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.
Productions in Newton County
For productions working in Newton County we provide licensed aerial units for establishing shots, chase work and B-roll, with FAA waivers and insurance certificates in place before the first day. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.
Covington airspace and Georgia law
Covington Municipal Airport, a few miles from the square, has no control tower. Georgia law makes it a misdemeanor to fly within 400 feet of or above a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without consent from whoever has authority over the event, with an exception for FAA-authorized operators flying lawfully. We get the organizer's consent in writing anyway, because the venue and promoter control launch spots and crowd areas. State law limits how far cities and counties can write their own drone rules, but event permits, venue contracts and property owners still decide where a crew can launch, so we plan around all three. We check every Covington location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.

FAQs
Can you fly a festival on the square?
Yes, with the organizer's approval and a flight plan that keeps the drone off the open crowd.
Can you fly for a production in Covington?
Yes. We fly establishing shots, chase work and B-roll, and provide FAA waivers and insurance certificates before production starts.
Can you film a ticketed show in Covington?
Yes, with the organizer's consent. Georgia law bars drone flights within 400 feet of a gated ticketed event without it, so we get written consent first.
Can you send a live drone feed to screens or a stream?
Yes. We send live drone video to LED screens, the livestream or a broadcast truck, and agree the format and cue points with your production team before show day.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
