The Geranium Festival
Our crew flew drones for the Vans Warped Tour live broadcast on Prime Video in Orlando. McDonough Square is the center of downtown, and each May it fills for the Geranium Festival, the Henry County arts and crafts festival on the square. Logistics and new communities
The warehouses and distribution centers along I-75 in Henry County host openings and company events, and new subdivisions across the county host community events. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.
Race days and Georgia law
Major NASCAR races at EchoPark Speedway, formerly Atlanta Motor Speedway, in nearby Hampton bring an FAA flight restriction within 3 nautical miles of the track, from an hour before to an hour after the event, so we schedule around race weekends. Georgia law makes it a misdemeanor to fly within 400 feet of or above a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without consent from whoever has authority over the event, with an exception for FAA-authorized operators flying lawfully. We get the organizer's consent in writing anyway, because the venue and promoter control launch spots and crowd areas. State law limits how far cities and counties can write their own drone rules, but event permits, venue contracts and property owners still decide where a crew can launch, so we plan around all three. We check every McDonough location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.

With the organizers' and city's approval, on a route that keeps clear of the crowd unless our waivers allow otherwise.
Can you fly near EchoPark Speedway on race day?
Not within 3 nautical miles of the track during major NASCAR races, from an hour before to an hour after, so we schedule around them.
Can you film a ticketed show in McDonough?
Yes, with the organizer's consent. Georgia law bars drone flights within 400 feet of a gated ticketed event without it, so we get written consent first.
Can you send a live drone feed to screens or a stream?
Yes. We send live drone video to LED screens, the livestream or a broadcast truck, and agree the format and cue points with your production team before show day.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
