Atlanta Concert and Festival Drone Filming

Air Views Media films concerts and festivals in Atlanta with FPV and aerial drones, for recaps, artist content and live feeds to screens and streams. In Atlanta we flew five days of live coverage at the FIFA Fan Festival, with a TVU uplink to FOX. Nationally, we've flown EDC, Sphere, Live Nation events and Miami Music Week.

Atlanta's live-music map

Atlanta's calendar runs year-round: festivals in Piedmont Park and Central Park such as Shaky Knees, amphitheater seasons at Lakewood and Ameris Bank Amphitheatre in Alpharetta, arena tours at State Farm Arena, and stadium shows at Mercedes-Benz Stadium. Each venue needs a different plan for launch zones, power, sight lines and crowd layout, which we build with the production manager and venue operations.

What we capture

Atlanta shows tend to be big and layered: multiple stages in a park, a skyline behind the main stage, and brand villages between them. We map the grounds by daylight, then fly the shots that tell the story at scale: the skyline-to-stage reveal at sunset, a low FPV run down the barricade line as the headliner opens, and a top-down of the crowd filling the field. Promoters use the library for next year's ticket push, and artists get edits sized for their own channels. More examples are on concert and festival FPV.

Live on the screens and the stream

Festivals want the drone on IMAG and the stream, not only in the recap. We feed a live FPV or aerial signal to the video team, the same way we fed FOX at the Fan Festival. More on Atlanta live broadcast drones.

Crowds, TFRs and safety

Park festivals in Midtown and downtown fall under Hartsfield-Jackson's Class B airspace, and the largest events get their own TFRs, as the Fan Festival did. Authorization for those takes time, so we start the FAA paperwork when the stage plot is final, not the week of the show. Over-audience shots happen only where our waivers and the promoter's safety plan allow. Our launch pads sit inside secured production areas, agreed with event security, local police and the fire marshal.

FAQs

How early should an Atlanta festival book drones?

As soon as the stage plot is set. Class B authorization, and any event TFR waiver, takes longer than the flight planning itself.

Can the drone feed go on the festival screens?

Yes. We deliver a live FPV or aerial feed to the video team for IMAG and the stream.

Have you worked events in Atlanta?

Yes. Five days of live aerial coverage at the FIFA Fan Festival Atlanta, fed to FOX over TVU, and live feeds for the Braves at Truist Park.

Can you fly a stadium concert at Mercedes-Benz Stadium?

Indoor and roof-closed shows are planned with venue operations and the tour's production. Open-air stadium shows also need the stadium TFR waiver.

What insurance do you carry?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
