Super Bowl LIX Week Drone Content on Bourbon Street, New Orleans

On February 8, 2025, the day before Super Bowl LIX, John Summit and Dom Dolla played a pop-up back-to-back DJ set from a balcony over Bourbon Street in New Orleans. Air Views Media flew drone content for the set. The French Quarter sat inside the FAA's Super Bowl drone restriction that day, and we flew with permission.

Air Views Media is an FAA Part 107 drone company based in Augusta, Georgia, flying live broadcast and FPV drones for festivals, sports and TV nationwide. See our New Orleans drone videography page and FAA waiver consulting.

At the request of the Department of Homeland Security, the FAA banned drones within 1.5 nautical miles of Lafayette Square, up to 2,000 feet, unless authorized. On February 8 the ban ran from 9 a.m. to 11 p.m. Central, and Bourbon Street sits well inside the circle. Approval for a flight like this starts days ahead: the request, the crew and aircraft lists, and a plan the security agencies can sign off on.

Big-event weeks bring temporary flight restrictions, and the pop-ups around them fall inside those zones. Start with the approval, not the shot list. Call 706-284-8364.
