Gatlinburg

FPV drone pilot in Gatlinburg

We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Gatlinburg for cabin and hotel fly-throughs, mountain weddings, attraction content and brand films. FPV adds close, fast, continuous moves that a standard camera drone cannot get, flown by pilots who rehearse each line first. For general aerials, homes and events see our Gatlinburg, TN drone videographer page.

Cabins, hotels and chalets

Our crew flew an indoor micro-drone fly-through of the Tempo by Hilton hotel in Times Square, through its lobbies and rooms. Cabin rentals, hotels and chalets need aerials of views and access plus interior tours, filmed with the owner's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.

Weddings, attractions and events

Mountain weddings, attractions and downtown businesses are steady work, and private attractions and resorts set their own drone rules, so we get written approval first. A Tennessee law that took effect July 1, 2026 makes it a Class A misdemeanor to fly within 400 feet of or above a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without consent from whoever has authority over it, with exceptions including FAA-authorized operators flying lawfully. We get that consent in writing before every show. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. See FPV drones for live broadcast, Indoor arena FPV drones and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US. For event coverage see Gatlinburg, TN live event drones.

Park land and airspace

Great Smoky Mountains National Park bans launching, landing or flying drones on its land without the superintendent's written approval, and its boundary wraps tightly around Gatlinburg. We map the boundary before every shoot and keep the whole flight off park land. In the mountains the bigger limits are often terrain and land rules: ridgelines block line of sight and the control signal, so we pick launch points before the shoot. Gatlinburg is in uncontrolled airspace, but low tour helicopters are common, so we keep a visual observer on every shoot. We check every Gatlinburg location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.

FAQs

Can you fly FPV in the national park?

No. Great Smoky Mountains National Park bans drones on its land without the superintendent's written approval, so we keep flights off park land.

Can you fly FPV inside a Gatlinburg cabin or hotel?

Yes, with the owner's approval and a route agreed with staff. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules.

Does Tennessee law limit drones at ticketed shows?

Yes. A state law in effect since July 1, 2026 bars flights within 400 feet of a gated ticketed event without consent from whoever controls it, so we get written consent first.

Can FPV footage go live to a stream or screens?

Yes. We send live FPV video to the stream, LED screens or a broadcast truck, and agree the format with your production team before the event.

What insurance do you carry?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
