Town Center concerts

Our crew flew sub-100-gram livestream drones for UNITY at the Sphere in Las Vegas, with the live feed shown on its immersive screen. Technology Park and Curiosity Lab

Technology Parkway runs through the office campuses of Technology Park, and the Curiosity Lab test route for autonomous vehicles uses the same corridor. For product demos we fly with the property owner and city on board, on a route that keeps clear of traffic and people unless our waivers allow otherwise. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.

The river, airspace and Georgia law

Land managed by the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area is closed to drone flights without the superintendent's written approval, so we plan around it. Peachtree-DeKalb Airport's Class D airspace lies to the southwest of the city. Georgia law makes it a misdemeanor to fly within 400 feet of or above a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without consent from whoever has authority over the event, with an exception for FAA-authorized operators flying lawfully. We get the organizer's consent in writing anyway, because the venue and promoter control launch spots and crowd areas. State law limits how far cities and counties can write their own drone rules, but event permits, venue contracts and property owners still decide where a crew can launch, so we plan around all three. We check every Peachtree Corners location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.

Can you fly over the Chattahoochee?

Not from or over National Park Service land without the superintendent's written approval. We shoot from private property or plan around those units.

Can you film a ticketed show in Peachtree Corners?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
