Live event drones in Duluth
This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in Duluth. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our Duluth drone videography page, and for one-take fly-throughs see our Duluth FPV drone pilot page.
Gas South Arena show modes
Gas South Arena lists a capacity of about 13,000, and a house-reduction system can turn it into a theater setting of about 3,500 or a convention space for about 10,000. Each mode changes the ceiling, rigging and seating layout, so we build the indoor flight plan around the setup booked for your show. Indoor flights at the arena need the venue's approval and a flight plan agreed with production, security and the lighting crew, and we fly small, lightweight drones close to the action. See Indoor arena FPV drones.
City property and city events
A Duluth ordinance adopted in July 2025 limits drone takeoffs and landings on city-owned or city-operated property to commercial pilots with their FAA certificate on hand, operators working an event the city sponsors, and emergencies. For Town Green and other city-run events, we coordinate launch spots with the organizer and the city. Gwinnett County parks limit drones to areas the parks director designates, so we check county sites separately.
Live feeds and recaps
For concerts, games and conventions we send the drone feed live to IMAG screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, and cut short edits for social the same night; see Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.
Georgia event drone law
Georgia law makes it a misdemeanor to fly within 400 feet of or above a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without consent from whoever has authority over the event, with an exception for FAA-authorized operators flying lawfully. We get the organizer's consent in writing anyway, because the venue and promoter control launch spots and crowd areas. State law limits how far cities and counties can write their own drone rules, but event permits, venue contracts and property owners still decide where a crew can launch, so we plan around all three.

FAQs
Can you fly inside Gas South Arena?
Only with the venue's approval. We fly small drones on a plan agreed with production, security and lighting, built around the arena, theater or convention setup.
Can you launch a drone on Duluth city property?
City code allows commercial pilots with their FAA certificate on hand, and operators working a city-sponsored event. We confirm launch spots with the organizer and the city first.
Can you send a live drone feed to screens or a stream?
Yes. We send live drone video to LED screens, the livestream or a broadcast truck, and agree the format and cue points with your production team before show day.
Can you film a ticketed show in Duluth?
Yes, with the organizer's consent. Georgia law bars drone flights within 400 feet of a gated ticketed event without it, so we get written consent first.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
