Live event drones in Johns Creek
This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in Johns Creek. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our Johns Creek drone videography page. Our headquarters is in Augusta, so Georgia shoots are planned by our home crew.
Golf events
Our crew flew live broadcast drone work for the T-Mobile 5G Range Show at the 2024 PGA Championship. The Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek hosted the 1976 U.S. Open, and the area is full of private clubs. During tournaments we work only with the event's approval and schedule. For golf events and club tournaments we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens. See Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.
Newtown Park and schools
Newtown Park's fields, lawn and dog park host concerts, the city's festivals and youth sports, and the city's high schools and swim and tennis clubs host meets and games. We fly with the city's approval and avoid flying over spectators. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.
The river, airspace and Georgia law
The Chattahoochee forms the city's western edge, and units like Medlock Bridge and Abbotts Bridge are part of the National Recreation Area, where drone launches are prohibited. Fulton County's airport and DeKalb-Peachtree are to the south, and Emory Johns Creek Hospital has helicopter traffic. Georgia law makes it a misdemeanor to fly within 400 feet of or above a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without consent from whoever has authority over the event, with an exception for FAA-authorized operators flying lawfully. We get the organizer's consent in writing anyway, because the venue and promoter control launch spots and crowd areas. State law limits how far cities and counties can write their own drone rules, but event permits, venue contracts and property owners still decide where a crew can launch, so we plan around all three. We check every Johns Creek location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.
