Golf at championship level
The Atlanta Athletic Club in Johns Creek has hosted the 1976 U.S. Open and three PGA Championships (1981, 2001 and 2011), and the area is full of private clubs. FPV adds the shots golf content rarely gets: following a drive at low height down the fairway, sweeping across a green at sunrise, or flying from the clubhouse terrace out over the eighteenth. Newtown Park and community events
Newtown Park's fields, lawn and dog park host concerts, the city's festivals and youth sports. FPV can open a recap or a recreation department video with a fast pass across the fields. We fly with the city's approval and avoid flying over spectators.
Fields, schools and clubs
Johns Creek's high schools, swim and tennis clubs and athletic programs use FPV for hype videos and facility tours. We fly around practice schedules and keep the aircraft clear of athletes in play.
The river and airspace
The Chattahoochee forms the city's western edge, and units like Medlock Bridge and Abbotts Bridge are part of the National Recreation Area, run by the National Park Service, where drone launches are prohibited. Fulton County's airport and DeKalb-Peachtree are to the south, and Emory Johns Creek Hospital has helicopter traffic, so we check airspace and file any LAANC or waiver requests for each location.
