Live event drones in Gainesville
This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in Gainesville. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our Gainesville, GA drone videography page. Our headquarters is in Augusta, so Georgia shoots are planned by our home crew.
Lake Lanier Olympic Park
Our crew flew drones down the Las Vegas Strip and around the F1 cars at the 2022 Las Vegas Grand Prix launch party. The 1996 Olympic rowing and canoe-kayak venue on Clarks Bridge Road still hosts regattas and paddling events, and aerials follow the lanes from start to finish. For regattas, paddling events and lake events we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens. See Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.
Road Atlanta and downtown
In Braselton, at the other end of Hall County, Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta hosts Petit Le Mans each fall, and we fly races with the track's and the event's approval. Our FAA waivers include operations over moving vehicles, which suits motorsport and car work. Downtown's square and campuses host city and school events. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.
Lake Lanier, airspace and Georgia law
Lake Lanier is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers project, and the Corps requires authorization for commercial filming and drone use on its land and water, so we apply before the shoot. Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport has no control tower. Georgia law makes it a misdemeanor to fly within 400 feet of or above a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without consent from whoever has authority over the event, with an exception for FAA-authorized operators flying lawfully. We get the organizer's consent in writing anyway, because the venue and promoter control launch spots and crowd areas. State law limits how far cities and counties can write their own drone rules, but event permits, venue contracts and property owners still decide where a crew can launch, so we plan around all three. We check every Gainesville location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.

FAQs
Do you need permission to fly over Lake Lanier?
For commercial filming, yes. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers requires authorization for drone use on its land and water at Lanier, in addition to FAA rules.
Can you film races at Road Atlanta?
With the track's and the event's approval. Our FAA waivers include operations over moving vehicles, which suits motorsport and car work.
Can you film a ticketed show in Gainesville?
Yes, with the organizer's consent. Georgia law bars drone flights within 400 feet of a gated ticketed event without it, so we get written consent first.
Can you send a live drone feed to screens or a stream?
Yes. We send live drone video to LED screens, the livestream or a broadcast truck, and agree the format and cue points with your production team before show day.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
