Gainesville, GA Drone Videographer and Operator
Air Views Media is a drone videography company serving Gainesville, Hall County and Lake Lanier for lakefront real estate, marinas, manufacturing, events and brand films. Our Georgia crew flew five days of live coverage, live to FOX, at the FIFA Fan Festival Atlanta. FAA Part 107 certified pilots, $10M liability standard (optional up to $25M).
Lake Lanier homes and marinas
On Lanier, the water sells the house. A pass in from over the cove shows the dock, the shoreline and the view from the porch, and a rise at sunset shows how open the water is. Marinas and lakeside venues use the same shots. Lake Lanier is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers project, and the Corps requires authorization for commercial filming and drone use on its land and water, so we apply before the shoot and keep the required distance from boats and docks.
Lake Lanier Olympic Park
The 1996 Olympic rowing and canoe-kayak venue on Clarks Bridge Road still hosts regattas and paddling events. Aerials follow the lanes from start to finish and give organizers a recap and sponsors a reason to come back; for live coverage, see live broadcast drones.
Downtown and the square
Gainesville's downtown square, Brenau University, the University of North Georgia's Gainesville campus, Riverside Military Academy and the Midtown Greenway make strong subjects for city, school and business video. We film recaps, recruiting pieces and before-and-after progress of public projects.
Industry and Road Atlanta
Gainesville calls itself the Poultry Capital of the World, and its food processing and manufacturing plants need site aerials and recruiting films. In Braselton, at the other end of Hall County, Michelin Raceway Road Atlanta hosts Petit Le Mans each fall. Our FAA waivers include operations over moving vehicles, which suits motorsport and car work; see drone cinematography for film and event drones.
Airspace
Lee Gilmer Memorial Airport has no control tower, so most Gainesville addresses don't need LAANC, but we keep clear of its traffic pattern, check every address for restrictions and NOTAMs, and add the Corps authorization for anything on or over the lake.

FAQs
Do you need permission to fly over Lake Lanier?
For commercial filming, yes. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers requires authorization for drone use on its land and water at Lanier, in addition to FAA rules. We apply before the shoot.
Can you film lakefront homes from the water side?
Yes. A pass from over the cove shows the dock, the shoreline and the view, flown with the required distance from boats and docks.
Can you film races at Road Atlanta?
With the track's and the event's approval. Our FAA waivers include operations over moving vehicles, which suits motorsport and car work.
Is Lee Gilmer Airport a problem for drone shoots?
It has no control tower, so LAANC usually isn't required, but we keep clear of its traffic and check every address.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
