Plants and recruiting events
Calhoun's plants and distribution centers along I-75, including flooring manufacturers, host openings and recruiting events, and where the owner allows we fly indoor one-take fly-throughs of showrooms and production floors. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Historic sites, airspace and Georgia law
New Echota, the 1825 capital of the Cherokee Nation, and Resaca Battlefield are both state historic sites near Calhoun, so flying over them requires a Georgia State Parks drone waiver. Tom B. David Field, about three miles south of downtown, has no control tower. Georgia law makes it a misdemeanor to fly within 400 feet of or above a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without consent from whoever has authority over the event, with an exception for FAA-authorized operators flying lawfully. We get the organizer's consent in writing anyway, because the venue and promoter control launch spots and crowd areas. State law limits how far cities and counties can write their own drone rules, but event permits, venue contracts and property owners still decide where a crew can launch, so we plan around all three. We check every Calhoun location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.
