Live event drones in Kennesaw

This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in Kennesaw. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our Kennesaw drone videography page, and for one-take fly-throughs see our Kennesaw FPV drone pilot page.

Kennesaw State game days

Kennesaw State moved up to Conference USA and the FBS on July 1, 2024, and Fifth Third Stadium, opened in 2010, lists a capacity of about 11,040. VyStar Arena at the KSU Convocation Center, opened in 2005, seats about 3,800 for basketball and more for concerts. For game days and arena events we send drone feeds live to the video board, the stream or a broadcast truck; see Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.

The KSU drone policy

Kennesaw State requires approval for drones over half a pound flown on university property. Approved pilots notify the university's Office of Emergency Management before each flight and contact the nearest control tower, and indoor flights also need that office's approval. We start that process with your KSU sponsor well before the event.

Depot Park and city events

The United Bankshares Amphitheater at Depot Park opened in June 2024 with a stage of about 50 by 42 feet and a lawn for up to about 3,000. It hosts the free Kennesaw Concert Series, Salute to America and the Pigs & Peaches BBQ Festival, which ran October 16 and 17, 2026. The park's rules list drones among prohibited items, so we only fly city events there with the city's written approval.

Georgia event drone law

Georgia law makes it a misdemeanor to fly within 400 feet of or above a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without consent from whoever has authority over the event, with an exception for FAA-authorized operators flying lawfully. We get the organizer's consent in writing anyway, because the venue and promoter control launch spots and crowd areas. State law limits how far cities and counties can write their own drone rules, but event permits, venue contracts and property owners still decide where a crew can launch, so we plan around all three.

FAQs

Can you fly a drone at Kennesaw State?

Only with university approval. KSU requires approval for drones over half a pound, notice to its Office of Emergency Management and a call to the nearest tower.

Can you fly at Depot Park events in Kennesaw?

Only with the city's written approval. The park's rules list drones among prohibited items, so we plan any city event coverage with the city first.

Can you send a live drone feed to screens or a stream?

Yes. We send live drone video to LED screens, the livestream or a broadcast truck, and agree the format and cue points with your production team before show day.

Can you film a ticketed show in Kennesaw?

Yes, with the organizer's consent. Georgia law bars drone flights within 400 feet of a gated ticketed event without it, so we get written consent first.

What insurance do you carry?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
