Live event drones in Smyrna

This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in Smyrna. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our Smyrna drone videography page. Our headquarters is in Augusta, so Georgia shoots are planned by our home crew.

Market Village and the Jonquil Festival

Our crew flies EDC Las Vegas as a three-pilot drone team, with over-the-crowd drones fed into the Hulu live stream. Smyrna Market Village, with its restaurants and green space by City Hall and the library, hosts the Jonquil Festival in spring and summer concerts on the village green. We fly with city approval. For festivals and concerts we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens. See Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.

Game days and the Cumberland area

The Cumberland and Galleria area, next to Truist Park, is one of the metro's big office districts, and game days fill its restaurants, bars and hotels. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.

Dobbins, Truist Park and Georgia law

Dobbins Air Reserve Base's Class D airspace covers much of Smyrna, and Truist Park carries a stadium TFR on game days, so we schedule outdoor flights around it. Georgia law makes it a misdemeanor to fly within 400 feet of or above a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without consent from whoever has authority over the event, with an exception for FAA-authorized operators flying lawfully. We get the organizer's consent in writing anyway, because the venue and promoter control launch spots and crowd areas. State law limits how far cities and counties can write their own drone rules, but event permits, venue contracts and property owners still decide where a crew can launch, so we plan around all three. We check every Smyrna location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.

FAQs

Can you fly the Jonquil Festival?

Yes, with city approval and a flight plan that keeps the drone off the open crowd.

Can you fly near Truist Park on game days?

Outdoor flights inside the stadium TFR need specific approval, so we usually schedule around game days or shoot indoors.

Can you film a ticketed show in Smyrna?

Yes, with the organizer's consent. Georgia law bars drone flights within 400 feet of a gated ticketed event without it, so we get written consent first.

Can you send a live drone feed to screens or a stream?

Yes. We send live drone video to LED screens, the livestream or a broadcast truck, and agree the format and cue points with your production team before show day.

What insurance do you carry?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
