Marietta Square festivals

Our crew flew live drone feeds for TV and the video board for the Atlanta Braves at Truist Park. Marietta Square, with Glover Park, the Earl and Rachel Smith Strand Theatre and its restaurants, fills for Chalktoberfest and Saturday farmers markets. We fly only where the city and the event allow. Campuses, productions and corporate events

Campuses such as Life University and Kennesaw State's Marietta campus host graduations and events, and Marietta's historic streets regularly appear in film and TV, where we work under the production's location permits. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.

Dobbins, Kennesaw Mountain and Georgia law

Dobbins Air Reserve Base is on the south side of town and Cobb County's McCollum Field is to the northwest, each with Class D airspace. Truist Park carries a stadium TFR on game days, and Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park is National Park Service land where launching drones is prohibited. Georgia law makes it a misdemeanor to fly within 400 feet of or above a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without consent from whoever has authority over the event, with an exception for FAA-authorized operators flying lawfully. We get the organizer's consent in writing anyway, because the venue and promoter control launch spots and crowd areas. State law limits how far cities and counties can write their own drone rules, but event permits, venue contracts and property owners still decide where a crew can launch, so we plan around all three. We check every Marietta location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.

Can you fly Chalktoberfest or a square event?

Where the city and the organizer approve, on a route that stays clear of the crowd unless our waivers and the event allow otherwise.

Can you fly at Kennesaw Mountain?

No. Kennesaw Mountain National Battlefield Park is National Park Service land where launching drones is prohibited.

Can you film a ticketed show in Marietta?

Yes, with the organizer's consent. Georgia law bars drone flights within 400 feet of a gated ticketed event without it, so we get written consent first.

Can you send a live drone feed to screens or a stream?

Yes. We send live drone video to LED screens, the livestream or a broadcast truck, and agree the format and cue points with your production team before show day.

What insurance do you carry?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
