Toccoa, GA FPV Drone Pilot and Operator
Air Views Media is an FPV drone company serving Toccoa and Stephens County for campus and tourism films, lake home fly-throughs and event recaps. Our crew has flown the aerial livestream at Outside Lands in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco since 2023. FAA Part 107 certified pilots, $10M liability standard (optional up to $25M).
Toccoa
FPV drone pilot in Toccoa
We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Toccoa for campus and tourism films, lake home fly-throughs, event recaps and brand content. FPV adds close, fast, continuous moves that a standard camera drone cannot get, flown by pilots who rehearse each line first. For general aerials, homes and events see our Toccoa, GA drone videographer page. Our headquarters is in Augusta, so Georgia shoots are planned by our home crew.
Toccoa Falls
Toccoa Falls, a 186-foot free-falling waterfall, is on the private campus of Toccoa Falls College, so any flight there needs the college's permission. We film tourism and campus content with that approval in place.
Currahee and Lake Hartwell
Currahee Mountain and Camp Toccoa are where World War II paratroopers, including the Band of Brothers company, trained, and the Currahee Military Museum is in the downtown depot. Much of the mountain is reached by Forest Service roads, so we check each site's land rules before quoting. Lake Hartwell, east of town, is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lake, so flights from or over Corps land need the Corps' approval, and lake homes are often best filmed from private property. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours. For live event coverage see our Toccoa, GA live event drones page. See FPV drones for live broadcast, Indoor arena FPV drones and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.
Airspace
Toccoa's airport, RG LeTourneau Field, about two miles northeast of downtown, has no control tower. We check every Toccoa location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.
Georgia drone law
Georgia law makes it a misdemeanor to fly within 400 feet of or above a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without consent from whoever has authority over the event, with an exception for FAA-authorized operators flying lawfully. We get the organizer's consent in writing anyway, because the venue and promoter control launch spots and crowd areas. State law limits how far cities and counties can write their own drone rules, but event permits, venue contracts and property owners still decide where a crew can launch, so we plan around all three.

FAQs
Can you film Toccoa Falls?
Yes, with permission from Toccoa Falls College, which owns the falls. We arrange it before the shoot.
Can you fly over Lake Hartwell?
Only with approval from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers for flights from or over Corps land. Lake homes are often filmed from private property instead.
Can you film a ticketed show in Toccoa?
Yes, with the organizer's consent. Georgia law bars drone flights within 400 feet of a gated ticketed event without it, so we get written consent first.
Can FPV footage go live to a stream or screens?
Yes. We send live FPV video to the stream, LED screens or a broadcast truck, and agree the format with your production team before the event.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
