Toccoa
Toccoa Falls
Toccoa Falls, a 186-foot free-falling waterfall, is on the private campus of Toccoa Falls College, so any flight there needs the college's permission. We film tourism and campus content with that approval in place.
Currahee and Camp Toccoa
Currahee Mountain and Camp Toccoa are where World War II paratroopers, including the Band of Brothers company, trained, and the Currahee Military Museum is in the downtown depot. Much of the mountain is reached by Forest Service roads, so we check each site's land rules before quoting. For reunions, festivals and downtown events we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens; see live broadcast drones and concert and festival drones.
Lake Hartwell and real estate
Lake Hartwell, east of town, is a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers lake, so flights from or over Corps land need the Corps' approval. Lake homes and mountain land are often best filmed from private property, and for interiors an indoor one-take fly-through shows the home; see indoor fly-through tours.
Airspace
Toccoa's airport, RG LeTourneau Field, about two miles northeast of downtown, has no control tower. We check every Toccoa location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.
