Athens, GA Drone Videographer and Operator
Air Views Media is a drone videography company serving Athens, the University of Georgia area and Oconee County for real estate, student housing, concerts and brand films. Our crew flew live drone feeds to the Davis Wade Stadium video boards for Mississippi State football. FAA Part 107 certified pilots, $10M liability standard (optional up to $25M).
Downtown, the arena and the music scene
Athens is the town that gave the world R.E.M. and the B-52s, and the music is still downtown: the Georgia Theatre, the 40 Watt Club and The Classic Center, whose Akins Ford Arena opened in December 2024 with room for up to 8,500. AthFest fills downtown with free stages each June, and the Twilight Criterium brings pro cycling to the streets each April. We film recaps, venue promos and tourism pieces; see concert and festival drones.
Student housing and real estate
Leasing teams for apartment towers near downtown and the campus need video that shows the walk to class, the rooftop pool and the view, and they need it before fall leasing season. For homes in Five Points, Normaltown and the subdivisions of Oconee County, we shoot golden-hour aerials and deliver MLS-ready stills with the video.
Game days in Athens
On UGA home football Saturdays, Sanford Stadium carries an FAA stadium flight restriction, and for anything on university property we coordinate with UGA first. Restaurants, hotels and hospitality houses still want game-week content, so we film it on the days before or after the game, or indoors.
Brand and commercial
For ads and productions we plan shots with the director and fly cinema payloads. Our credits include aerials for MrBeast and drone work on Science Channel's Impossible Engineering. See drone cinematography for film, and for fast, close shots our Athens FPV pilot page.
Airspace
Athens-Ben Epps Airport, east of downtown, has Class D airspace while its tower is open, and the stadium TFR applies on game days. We check every address, file LAANC or an FAA authorization, and give you a go or no-go before the date.

FAQs
Can you fly near Sanford Stadium on game day?
Not inside the stadium TFR without specific FAA approval. It covers three nautical miles around the stadium from one hour before to one hour after the game, so we schedule around it.
Can you film on the UGA campus?
For anything on university property we coordinate with UGA first, in addition to FAA authorization, or plan the shots from private property nearby.
Do you film student housing and apartments?
Yes. Exterior aerials, amenity video and indoor fly-throughs, usually scheduled ahead of fall leasing.
Is Ben Epps Airport a problem for drone shoots?
Parts of eastern Athens sit in its Class D airspace while the tower is open, so we file LAANC for those addresses.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
