Cumming

FPV drone pilot in Cumming

We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Cumming for amphitheater concerts, fairs, venue and office fly-throughs, city events and brand content. FPV adds close, fast, continuous moves that a standard camera drone cannot get, flown by pilots who rehearse each line first. For general aerials, homes and events see our Cumming, GA drone videographer page. Our headquarters is in Augusta, so Georgia shoots are planned by our home crew.

Lou Sobh Amphitheater at City Center

Our crew flew FPV over Kinetic Field at EDC Orlando in 2022. The Lou Sobh Amphitheater at Cumming City Center has a covered stage of about 2,227 square feet, five grassy terraces for seating and a reflecting pond with a bridge. Shows there are run by the city, so drone coverage is planned with the city and kept clear of the open terraces. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. See FPV drones for live broadcast, Indoor arena FPV drones and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US. For event coverage see Cumming, GA live event drones.

Fairs, festivals and venues

Fairs and festivals at the Cumming Fairgrounds are flown with the organizer's approval, with shots planned around the stage, the midway and the gates. Venues and offices suit one-take FPV tours with the owner's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.

Georgia drone law

Georgia law makes it a misdemeanor to fly within 400 feet of or above a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without consent from whoever has authority over the event, with an exception for FAA-authorized operators flying lawfully. We get the organizer's consent in writing anyway, because the venue and promoter control launch spots and crowd areas. State law limits how far cities and counties can write their own drone rules, but event permits, venue contracts and property owners still decide where a crew can launch, so we plan around all three. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.

FAQs

Can you fly FPV at the Lou Sobh Amphitheater?

Only with the city's approval as part of the event plan. We keep flight paths clear of the open terraces unless FAA rules for flying over people are met.

Can you film a ticketed show in Cumming?

Yes, with the organizer's consent. Georgia law bars drone flights within 400 feet of a gated ticketed event without it, so we get written consent first.

Can a Georgia city ban your drone shoot?

Mostly no. State law preempts most local drone rules, but a city can still control commercial launches and landings on its own property, so we confirm launch spots in Cumming.

Can FPV footage go live to a stream or screens?

Yes. We send live FPV video to the stream, LED screens or a broadcast truck, and agree the format with your production team before the event.

What insurance do you carry?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
