Live event drones in Hilton Head Island

This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in Hilton Head Island. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our Hilton Head Island, SC drone videographer page.

Golf events

Our crew flew live broadcast drone work for the T-Mobile 5G Range Show at the 2024 PGA Championship. Courses across the island, including Harbour Town in Sea Pines with its lighthouse, suit tournament and corporate golf coverage, flown with the club's or community's permission. Gated communities set their own rules. See Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.

Resorts, weddings and festivals

Resort and waterfront venues host weddings, corporate events and festivals all year. We fly them inside the organizer's plan, and for ballrooms and lobbies an indoor one-take fly-through shows the room in a single shot. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Beach shoots add their own limits: crowds, launch spots and sea turtle and shorebird nesting closures, so we check local rules and posted signs first.

Airspace

Hilton Head Island Airport has a control tower, so the north end of the island is controlled airspace. We check every Hilton Head Island location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

Military sites and South Carolina law

MCAS Beaufort and Parris Island to the north are federal no-drone areas. South Carolina's Act 150, set to take effect January 1, 2027, makes it a crime to knowingly fly within 1,500 feet of a military installation or a prison or jail without written permission, so we plan routes around those sites.
