Live event drones in Savannah
This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in Savannah. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our Savannah drone videography page, and for one-take fly-throughs see our Savannah FPV drone pilot page.
Enmarket Arena and indoor shows
Enmarket Arena, the city-owned arena that opened in 2022 with roughly 9,500 seats, books concerts, touring shows and Ghost Pirates hockey. Indoor flights at the arena need the venue's approval and a flight plan agreed with production, security and the lighting crew, and we fly small, lightweight drones close to the action. See Indoor arena FPV drones.
Planning around St. Patrick's Day
The City of Savannah restricts outdoor special event and film permits around St. Patrick's Day each March, and its film office has posted that it will not issue film permits from March 10 to 24, 2027. If your event falls in that window, plan drone coverage with the city and the organizer early, or keep it on private property with the owner's approval.
City film and drone permits
Drone filming on Savannah public property generally goes through the city film office, which lists a drone permit fee of $150 per location on top of the film permit and asks productions to notify nearby businesses and residents at least 48 hours ahead. A shoot entirely on private property may not need a film permit unless it affects public space. Fees and rules change, so we confirm with the office before quoting.
Georgia event drone law
Georgia law makes it a misdemeanor to fly within 400 feet of or above a gated, ticketed music, sports or performing arts event without consent from whoever has authority over the event, with an exception for FAA-authorized operators flying lawfully. We get the organizer's consent in writing anyway, because the venue and promoter control launch spots and crowd areas. State law limits how far cities and counties can write their own drone rules, but event permits, venue contracts and property owners still decide where a crew can launch, so we plan around all three. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes.

FAQs
Can you send a live drone feed to screens or a stream?
Yes. We send live drone video to LED screens, the livestream or a broadcast truck, and agree the format and cue points with your production team before show day.
Can you film events in Savannah during St. Patrick's week?
Often not on public property. The city restricts outdoor event and film permits around St. Patrick's Day, so we plan with the city and the organizer early or film on private property.
Do you need a city permit to fly a drone at a Savannah event?
On public property, usually yes. The city film office handles drone permits on top of film permits, and private property shoots may not need one unless they affect public space.
Can you fly over the crowd?
Only when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, and with the organizer's approval. Otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes.
What insurance do you carry?
Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
