Live event drones in Mount Pleasant

This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in Mount Pleasant. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our Mount Pleasant, SC drone videographer page.

Hotels, Shem Creek and venues

Our crew has flown one-take interior fly-throughs of more than 15 Charleston-area hotels for Vive Media. Mount Pleasant's hotels, Shem Creek restaurants and venues suit the same one-take approach for launches and events, flown safely around guests and staff. For weddings, festivals and events we film recaps, and for larger shows we send live drone feeds to the stream or screens. See Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.

Patriots Point and the harbor

We have flown a historic-site fly-through of the USS Yorktown, and Patriots Point requires prior authorization for any drone use, so we arrange it before the shoot. Harbor views with the Ravenel Bridge are planned around FAA restrictions on event days such as the Cooper River Bridge Run. Plantation and waterfront venues host weddings year-round, and we fly with the venue's approval and keep a safe distance from guests. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.

Airspace and park rules

Parts of Mount Pleasant sit under the controlled airspace around Charleston International and Joint Base Charleston, which is a federal no-drone area. Town and Charleston County parks restrict drone launches, including at Memorial Waterfront Park. South Carolina's Act 150, set to take effect January 1, 2027, makes it a crime to knowingly fly within 1,500 feet of a military installation or a prison or jail without written permission, so we plan routes around those sites. We check every Mount Pleasant location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.

FAQs

Can you film events at Patriots Point?

Yes, with prior authorization from Patriots Point, which it requires for any drone use. We arrange it before the shoot.

Can you fly over the Cooper River Bridge Run?

Only within the FAA restrictions set for event days. We plan harbor and bridge views around them.

Can you fly in Mount Pleasant parks?

Only where the park owner allows it. Town and Charleston County parks restrict drone launches, so we film from private property or get a permit.

Can you send a live drone feed to screens or a stream?

Yes. We send live drone video to LED screens, the livestream or a broadcast truck, and agree the format and cue points with your production team before show day.

What insurance do you carry?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
