Live event drones in Daytona Beach

This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in Daytona Beach. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our Daytona Beach, FL drone videographer page.

Daytona International Speedway

Our crew flew FPV over Kinetic Field at EDC Orlando in 2022. NASCAR races at Daytona International Speedway, including the Daytona 500, fall under the FAA stadium flight restriction, which covers 3 nautical miles from an hour before to an hour after the event. Track flights happen only with the speedway's approval as part of the event plan. See Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.

Bike Week, festivals and the beach

Bike Week, Biketoberfest, festivals and concerts are flown inside the organizer's production plan. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Volusia County park rules prohibit launching or landing drones in county parks. Beach shoots add their own limits: crowds, launch spots and sea turtle and shorebird nesting closures, so we check local rules and posted signs first. Oceanfront resorts suit one-take fly-throughs. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.

Class C airspace and Florida law

Daytona Beach International has a 24-hour tower and Class C airspace over much of the city, with heavy flight school traffic, so most Daytona Beach flights need LAANC or FAA authorization. Florida Statute 330.41 bars drone flights over critical infrastructure such as substations, water plants, seaports, airports and military sites unless the flight is a commercial one that follows FAA rules or the owner consents in writing, and it bars flights over K-12 schools, so we plan routes around both. We check every Daytona Beach location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.
