Cary, NC Live Event and Concert Drones

Live event drones in Cary

This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in Cary. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our Cary, NC drone videographer page.

Concerts and festivals

Our crew has flown the aerial livestream at Outside Lands in Golden Gate Park in San Francisco since 2023. Cary's outdoor concerts and festivals suit the same aerial livestream approach, flown inside the organizer's production plan and with the venue's sign-off first. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. See Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.

Tournaments and corporate events

Tournaments, company events and launches at corporate campuses, including SAS, and office parks along the I-40 corridor are flown with the owner's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.

Airspace

Raleigh-Durham International sits just north of Cary and Morrisville, so many addresses in the area are in its Class C airspace and need LAANC. We check every Cary location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it.

North Carolina rules

North Carolina no longer requires a separate state permit for commercial drone pilots, since the state law requiring one was repealed effective December 1, 2024, so FAA Part 107 certification is the credential that counts. North Carolina state parks need written permission or a special use permit for drone flights.
