Live event drones in Pinehurst
This page is for event producers, promoters and venues planning a live event in Pinehurst. We fly concerts, festivals, parades, arena shows, races and brand activations, with drone feeds sent live to screens, the stream or a broadcast truck, plus fast edits for social. For homes, tourism and general aerials see our Pinehurst, NC drone videographer page.
Golf events and championships
Our crew flew live broadcast drone work for the T-Mobile 5G Range Show at the 2024 PGA Championship. Pinehurst No. 2 hosted the 2024 U.S. Open and is set to host the men's and women's U.S. Opens in 2029. USGA championships ban drones for spectators, so any flight during a championship has to be part of the approved broadcast or media plan. Outside championship weeks, course and resort flights need the club's approval. See Live drone feeds for video boards and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US.
Resorts, weddings and equestrian events
We fly golf events, resorts and hotels, weddings, equestrian events and hospitality content across Pinehurst, Southern Pines and the Sandhills. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.
Sandhills airspace and state rules
Moore County Airport has no control tower. Fort Bragg and Camp Mackall lie to the east and south, with restricted military airspace that starts at the surface in places, so we keep flights clear of it. North Carolina no longer requires a separate state permit for commercial drone pilots, since the state law requiring one was repealed effective December 1, 2024, so FAA Part 107 certification is the credential that counts. North Carolina state parks need written permission or a special use permit for drone flights. We check every Pinehurst location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.
