Our crew filmed Megan Thee Stallion's set at Rolling Loud Miami 2021 with a micro FPV drone. Rochester's downtown festivals suit close FPV inside the organizer's plan, and inside Blue Cross Arena and other venues we fly small drones with the venue's approval. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Campuses, offices and races

University campuses and corporate sites suit one-take FPV tours, flown with the owner's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours. Watkins Glen International is on the FAA stadium list, so the 3 nautical mile flight restriction applies from an hour before to an hour after covered events.

Airspace and parks

Frederick Douglass Greater Rochester International sits under Class C airspace, and downtown Rochester is inside its surface area, so most downtown flights need LAANC or FAA authorization. New York State Parks require a prior written permit to launch, land or fly a drone on park property, and commercial filming goes through the State Parks film permit process. We check every Rochester location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. Can you fly FPV downtown in Rochester?

Yes, with the school's approval and a route agreed with staff, scheduled around classes.

Can you fly at Watkins Glen International on event days?

Not inside the FAA stadium flight restriction, which covers 3 nautical miles from an hour before to an hour after covered events, unless we are part of the approved production.

Can FPV footage go live to a stream or screens?

Yes. We send live FPV video to the stream, LED screens or a broadcast truck, and agree the format with your production team before the event.

What insurance do you carry?

Our standard policy is $10M liability, with optional coverage up to $25M when a venue, league or network requires it. Certificates naming your venue or production are issued before the shoot.
