Albany, NY FPV Drone Pilot and Operator

FPV drone pilot in Albany

We fly FPV and small cinewhoop drones in Albany for hotel and venue fly-throughs, arena content, festivals and brand films. FPV adds close, fast, continuous moves that a standard camera drone cannot get, flown by pilots who rehearse each line first. For general aerials, homes and events see our Albany, NY drone videographer page.

Hotels, offices and venues

Our crew flew an indoor micro-drone fly-through of the Tempo by Hilton hotel in Times Square, through its lobbies and rooms. Albany hotels, offices and event spaces suit the same one-take approach, flown with the owner's approval. Inside MVP Arena and other venues we fly small drones with the venue's approval. Fully enclosed indoor flights are generally outside FAA airspace rules, so we fly one-take fly-throughs with the owner's approval; see indoor fly-through tours.

Festivals and Saratoga

Festivals are flown inside the organizer's production plan. Flying directly over an open crowd is only allowed when the drone and the operation meet FAA rules for flying over people, so otherwise we keep flight paths over the stage, closed areas and open lanes. Saratoga Race Course bans drones on its grounds, so race-season work is arranged with the track or flown from approved sites nearby. New York State Parks require a prior written permit to launch, land or fly a drone on park property, and commercial filming goes through the State Parks film permit process. See FPV drones for live broadcast, Indoor arena FPV drones and Concert and festival FPV drones across the US. For event coverage see Albany, NY live event drones.

Airports and federal sites

Albany International sits under Class C airspace northwest of downtown, and downtown lies under an outer shelf that starts well above drone altitudes. Watervliet Arsenal, Stratton Air National Guard Base at Schenectady County Airport and the Navy support unit in Saratoga Springs are federal no-drone areas, closed from the ground to 400 feet around the clock. We check every Albany location on the FAA sectional, B4UFLY and NOTAMs before quoting, and file LAANC or FAA authorization for any address that needs it. We confirm local permits, venue rules and airspace authorizations before every job.
